Our Own Little Celebration
So, the night before Christmas Eve, we had our own small celebration at our house so Bennett could open his gifts from us, and we could give each other our stockings. Bennett was very excited to FINALLY be able to open the presents that had been sitting under the tree for a long time; I can't believe he actually left them alone! Bennett received a slinky dog, the "Let's Go Fishin'" game, a wooden play clock, and a new set of Thomas legos. We opened our stockings next, and then we immediately had to rush downstairs with all the new toys and try them out. The next morning we woke up to about 5 inches of snow and we thought that Bennett would enjoy going out to romp around in it for awhile since we weren't leaving for Milaca until later in the afternoon. Matt wanted to shovel, so we asked Bennett if he wanted to go outside. He said, "No, I just want to play with my new toys." He NEVER turns down an opportunity to go outside, so we were really surprised! We were able to convince him to go out for a little bit, and about 15 minutes later he was back indoors playing with his toys. We're glad he likes them! Here are a few snapshots of him (in the outfit of his choosing: shorts, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and a Santa hat):
